Dine and let us entertain you at the Currach irish Pub
The Currach has the biggest range on tap beers available on the island, both traditional brands and boutique craft beers. We currently have eight taps including a traditional hand pump. We have Guinness, of course as well as Lion Red, Cider, Montieths Gold and four taps dedicated to craft beers including Black Dog and guest beers from Waiheke Island and Auckland breweries. Our wine list features a range of Waiheke Island wines as well as a great range of other New Zealand wines.
We have a great range of Irish music and musicians are always welcomed and encouraged to play at The Currach. The Thursday night open mic jam nights are now legendary as well as hosting regular gigs in the bar and the frequent spontaneous music sessions that can erupt at any time. The Currach also runs the Singer Songwriter festival, which has attracted such iconic musicains as Dave Dobbyn, members of the Herbs, Baz Caitcheon Lyndon Puffin, Ben Hammond and others.
The Currach Irish Pub has a fantastic garden bar and play area for children. There are three separate dining areas. The main bar, the Snug, and The Gallery dining room which features regular art exhibitions of local artists. There is also darts and other games available in the bar.
The pub had a warm and welcoming vibe, we had dinner there the both nights we were staying at the lodge. I highly recommend this pub and we would definitely come back again. Based on our drive around the island, we think they are definitely situated in the best location with the beach across the road, the local store, café and saturday market next to.
